Let's meet for happy hour at Zipps the night before Scottsdale's League Registration. This is a great time to meet new teammates, exchange info, sign release forms and pay fees, etc., etc., etc.

And have a beer. ;)

PREVIOUS LETTER TO GROUP:

HEY, EVERYBODY!
My name is Amanda S., and I started I Wanna Play Softball in Scottsdale six weeks ago in hopes of finding a team to join. Wow! There are now 41 people interested in playing softball this season, with more joining every day.

Our group Meet n' Greet on the 23rd is to form teams, but this DOES NOT MEAN we are guaranteed a spot in the league. The league gives first priority to teams with completed rosters and payments, then returning teams, then teams with the most Scottsdale residents.

WHAT WE NEED

> For everyone to come to the Team Meet n' Greet
> Volunteers to CAPTAIN and ORGANIZE teams.
> Flexible, fun players with CASH or CHECK for FEES.
> Teams must be 1:1 men and women. We need to see plenty of ladies at the Meet n' Greet.

THE DEETS

> Season runs July 14 through September 12, 2008
> Games will be on a weeknight (M-F).
> Game times are 6:20 / 7:25 and 8:30 / 9:35
> Games are played at Chaparral Park (Jackrabbit & Hayden); Eldorado (Miller & Oak); Horizon (100th St. & FLW); and Yavapai (Miller & Roosevelt)
> We won't know the actual night/time/park combos available until registration day (Tuesday 24th)
> Total fees are $515 for mens and $495 for coed. (14 games and tournament)

ONE TEAM
I never intended to actually captain a team; however, I will do so as long as I play first base.;) I will be organizing one coed "C" team (recreational) with preference for M-Th night play at Chaparral. I need 12 players, which means each player will need to bring $42 to the Meet n' Greet. I also need a co-captain.

A SECOND TEAM?
We have at least 27 people coming to the Meet n' Greet; that's more than enough for one more team, or two even if people wanted to play on more than one league (e.g., a mens team and a coed team). At least one captain from each team must be able to drop off the team registration and funds to the Chaparral Park Office on Tuesday, June 24th between 1pm and 7pm -- the sooner the better.

See you on the 23rd,

Amanda

    Organizer
I cannot believe that there are 36 people coming to Zipps. I think I should call and give them a heads up!
